At Indo Defence, Two Indonesian Companies Collaborate to Develop Anti-Tank Rockets
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Two domestic defense industry companies, PT Hariff Dipa Persada (Hariff Defense) and PT Dahana, have officially entered into a strategic partnership in the development of defense technology, particularly in the fields of explosives and explosion system automation.
This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Indo Defense 2024 event on Thursday (June 12, 2025). One of the main focuses of this collaboration is the development of the Anti-Tank Weapon (ATW) Training Rocket, a lightweight anti-tank weapon system for military training purposes.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment as Indonesians to strengthen national defense through synergy between private national companies and state-owned enterprises,” said Adi Nugroho, President Director of PT Hariff Dipa Persada (Hariff Defense).
The SLT Latih is designed for efficient use, with rockets that can be fired through a reusable launcher. The SLT Latih developed by Hariff Defense and Dahana, Adi added; has shown promising performance. The rocket designed for training purposes can travel straight for up to 600 meters, exceeding initial expectations.
Going forward, development will not stop at the SLT Latih. Both parties plan to proceed to Guided Missiles, and in the next phase, to domestically produced Smart Missiles. “This collaboration is expected to serve as the initial foundation for the development of more advanced explosive technology, as well as the enhancement of national human resource capabilities to address future strategic defense challenges,” he stated.
PT Hariff Dipa Persada is a national private technology company specializing in control systems, telecommunications, and defense technology solutions. Meanwhile, PT Dahana is a state-owned enterprise operating in the integrated explosive materials sector.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto stated in his opening remarks at Indo Defense that the event aims to provide opportunities for the national defense industry to showcase itself on the international defense industry stage.
“This expo is intended to provide opportunities for the domestic defense industry, defense industries of friendly nations, the academic community in Indonesia, all political and societal leaders, and of course the young generation of the Republic of Indonesia to follow developments in technology and science, particularly in the field of defense,” President Prabowo said on Wednesday (June 11, 2025).
