Indonesia Army held Combat Simulation on South Sumatra on preparation to deal with foreign aggression

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- The Indonesian Army held a combat simulation scenario in the context of the "Kartika Yudha" FY 2020 Inter-Branch Exercise (Ancab). Based on a release received from the TNI Information Center, the exercise was held at the Kodiklatad Puslatpur, Baturaja, South Sumatra. In this combat simulation, as many as 3,123 soldiers who are members of the Battle Team Brigade (BTP) have a mission to destroy the threat of aggression from foreign countries or aggressor countries.

Troops in this BTP consist of Brigif Raider-9/DY/2 Kostrad which is strengthened by various branches, namely the Combat Unit, Combat Assistance Unit, Intelligence Unit, Territorial Unit and Administrative Assistance Unit. Apart from soldiers, this combat simulation also involves the main tool of the new weapon system (alutsista) which has modern technology. Among others, MI-35 Helicopters, Leopard Tanks, Astros Cannons, Caesar Cannons, and RBS 70 Air Defense Artillery Cannons.

The Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division of Kostrad, Maj. Gen. Tri Yuniarto, said the combat training was held in order to build measurable, effective, efficient and professional cooperation in branch operations of the Indonesian Armed Forces. "The bottom line is that it will be able to multiply the combat power and combat power of the unit when it is involved in an actual battle," said Tri in a press release released by the TNI Information Center, Friday (6/1).

Tri said the exercise which involved all or part of the TNI AD branch elements was carried out in the form of an integrated operation. The two-star general of the Indonesian Army also asked all soldiers who took part in this training to carry it out with discipline and full sincerity. Furthermore, Tri also reminded every soldier to continue to prioritize safety factors during the training process. "To prevent the occurrence of training accidents that result in personnel and material losses," he ordered.
